Online applications

Online applications for registration and renewal of registration are available to:

• medical students completing an Australian approved program of study within the next three months
• medical graduates who have recently completed an Australian approved program of study
• medical practitioners who hold current provisional registration and who are applying for general registration (interns and international medical graduates)
• medical practitioners who hold current general or specialist registration and who want to change to non-practising registration
• medical practitioners renewing:
  • general
  • specialist, or
  • non-practising registration.
  We will email you when it is time to renew your registration.

Renewal of provisional or limited registration

We no longer send hardcopy forms in the mail for provisional or limited registration renewal. To renew your provisional or limited registration, download the relevant form below and upload the completed form and any supporting documents through Online upload.

Fast track applications

If your registration lapsed at the start of November 2024 and you wish to keep practising, you must make a new application for registration. In some cases, you can use the fast track application for this process. The fast track process is only available until 30 November 2024.

A fast track application fee is payable in addition to the registration fee. If submitting a fast track application, you cannot practise until your application is approved and your registration details are updated on the national register.

If you previously held general and/or specialist registration, you can apply for non-practising registration by using the ANPC-30 form:
