AMC accreditation standards for cosmetic surgery endorsement

The Australian Medical Council is consulting on draft Accreditation standards for programs of study leading to endorsement of registration of medical practitioners for cosmetic surgery. The consultation is open until 15 February 2023 and the draft standards are on the AMC website.

Guidelines for telehealth consultations with patients

The Medical Board is consulting on draft revised Guidelines: Telehealth consultations with patients.The consultation is open until 17 February 2023 and the consultation paper is on the Board’s Current consultations page.

Changes to intern requirements in 2024

The Medical Board is consulting on an updated registration standard in response to changes to intern training arising from the Australian Medical Council’s National Framework for Prevocational (PGY1 and PGY2) Medical Training to come into effect from 2024. The consultation is open until 25 January 2023 and the consultation paper is on the Board’s Current consultations page.

Scheduled review of National Scheme accreditation arrangements

National Boards and Ahpra are reviewing the current accreditation arrangements for the national health practitioner regulatory scheme to prepare for the next period (mid-2024 to mid-2029). The consultation is open until 14 February 2023 and the consultation paper is on the Medical Board’s Current consultations page.

Ahpra is seeking feedback on the draft Data strategy for the National Scheme and the future uses of the data we collect and hold. The consultation is open until 31 January 2023 and the consultation paper is on the Ahpra website.
